new year, new approach

Happy New Year! 2026 has me rethinking how I approach daily routines and carving out small, meaningful pockets of time for myself. FYI, I have a super sweet, very active toddler who’s recently adopted an enthusiastic new wake-up time of 5 a.m. While that’s not the worst thing in the world, it’s definitely disrupted my plans for a leisurely morning self-care routine.

Lately my favorite solution has become a quick facial massage — it’s simple, effective, and easy to fit into those early hours. Using a cleansing oil, a nourishing moisturizer, and sunscreen, I can combine cleansing, hydration, and protection with a few minutes of massage to enliven my skin and wake up my circulation. The massage helps release tension in my face and neck (because, yes, 5 a.m. feels very early), lets me work product in more efficiently, and gives me a small, calming ritual before the pace of the day picks up.

It’s funny how the little things—those brief, intentional moments—can really preserve our sanity. How can you maximize the time you spend taking care of yourself? How can you tend more gently to your own wellbeing while still giving generously to others? Those are the questions I find myself returning to most often.

Wishing you a wonderful close to the first month of the year. As always, thank you for reading!

The Cumulative Effects of Facial Massage

🌞Good morning lovelies! Let’s talk a little about the benefits of regular facial massage and how it’s often overlooked as a modality that could change your face over time 🌞

Facial massage offers a variety of benefits for the skin and underlying muscles, helping promote a more youthful, healthy appearance. Here are the key ways it improves skin elasticity and muscle tone:
🌿 1. Boosts Circulation
Massage gently increases blood flow to facial tissues, delivering more oxygen and vital nutrients to the skin. Improved circulation encourages cell regeneration and repair, which supports long-term firmness and elasticity.
💧 2. Enhances Lymphatic Drainage
Gentle facial massage stimulates the lymphatic system, helping reduce puffiness and aiding the natural removal of waste and toxins. This gentle detoxification can result in a clearer complexion and a more sculpted, refreshed look.
💆‍♀️ 3. Stimulates Collagen Production
Regular, targeted massage helps activate fibroblasts—the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin—by encouraging healthy cellular activity. Over time, this stimulation can improve skin texture, soften fine lines, and enhance overall resilience.
🧠 4. Tones and Strengthens Facial Muscles
Facial muscles, like any muscles in the body, benefit from gentle exercise and relaxation. Massage helps relax overused muscles that contribute to expression lines while simultaneously toning weaker areas, helping maintain balanced muscle tone and facial symmetry.
🌸 5. Improves Product Absorption
When performed with compatible skincare products such as serums or facial oils, massage enhances absorption and effectiveness, allowing active ingredients to penetrate more deeply. This improves the performance of your skincare routine and helps nourish the skin more thoroughly.

The Quiet Power of Linder Health Peels

Good morning sunny community! I just want to chat about the line of peels I chose by Linder Health!

Born from their commitment to long-term skin health and healthy aging, our chemists have developed peel treatments for all skin types and concerns that aid in kick starting healthy cellular metabolism, optimize skin cell function and provide the same exfoliation and desquamation benefits of traditional peels, with less inflammation.

With very little downtime, you can enjoy peels - and the journey you’ll embark on with your skin - all year round! Linder formulas aid in initiating selective cellular apoptosis, or “programmed cell death,” to eliminate senescent cells. This process breaks down a cell’s contents to be digested by immune cells without causing inflammation.

This allows for more frequent treatments for regular skin maintenance.

In contrast, traditional peel formulas trigger necrosis, a form of cell injury that ruptures a cell’s membrane causing an inflammatory wound response in the skin. The AHA and BHA blends are no more than 30% of the total formula. At these lower concentrations, topical application contributes to cellular apoptosis, triggering microscopic exfoliation without the irritation.

With 3 formulas boosted with targeted ingredients to treat specific conditions, including hexylresorcinol, glycolic acid, tranexamic acid and more, we offer solutions for all skin types and concerns. All three peels are adjusted to stay within the pH sweet spot, 3 - 3.5. This range is low enough to react with the skin’s natural pH of 5.5, while limiting inflammation and irritation.

Now that all this ground has been covered, let me introduce each one -

Permission to Rest

Hi Everyone!

Anna here making my first blog post! Today I want to talk about the importance of rest and how hustle culture is overrated, exhausting and seriously dysregulating.

In today’s fast-paced world, rest has become a quiet form of resistance. Modern life often celebrates constant productivity — the “hustle” — leaving little room to pause, breathe, or simply be. Yet rest is not a luxury; it’s a biological and emotional necessity.

Rest allows the body to repair, the mind to reset, and creativity to flourish. It strengthens our immune system, balances hormones, and supports mental clarity. Beyond the physical, rest nurtures emotional resilience — giving space for reflection, connection, and self-compassion.

In a culture that equates busyness with worth, embracing rest reminds us that value isn’t measured by output. True wellness includes moments of stillness — naps, slow mornings, deep breaths, and time away from screens. By honoring rest, we reclaim balance and recognize that taking care of ourselves is not time lost, but life regained.

Many people understand the importance of a good rest but literally have no idea to go about it. Here is my suggestion- book a service whether it be a massage, facial, yoga class, or sauna session and start there. By doing this, you are committing to dropping into the present and being cared for or supported in some way. No phones, no doom piles of laundry waiting to be folded, no reason to cut things short or do anything other than what you signed up for!

🌞At Suntoucher Skinworks, everything you interact with is designed to allow your overstimulated system to reset. The lighting is soft and glowy. The music is lofi and quiet. The linens and facial towels are plush enough for even the most sensitive skin. The weighted lap blanket is ready for you should you need or want it. The room is clean, cozy and catered to those who are sensitive to fragrance. The colors are earthy, warm neutrals 🌞

Here, your only assignment is to allow yourself to be cared for! Hopefully you experience the softest landing you’ve had in ages.

Be well ya’ll! Until next time
